Minimalism: Living with less in a busy world – Texto em inglês para alunos avançados

A few years ago, I realized that I was surrounded by things I didn’t really need. My closet was full of clothes I never wore, my shelves were covered with random objects, and my phone was filled with apps I hadn’t opened in months. I felt mentally overwhelmed — not just by the mess, but by the constant noise of modern life. That’s when I discovered minimalism.

Minimalism is not just about having fewer things — it’s about being intentional with what you keep, buy, and consume. It means focusing on what truly adds value to your life and letting go of what doesn’t. Some people think minimalism is extreme or boring, but for me, it’s been liberating.

I started by decluttering my home, one drawer at a time. Then I looked at other areas of my life: my schedule, my habits, even my relationships. I asked myself, “Is this helping me grow, or just keeping me busy?” That simple question helped me remove things that were taking up my time and energy without giving anything meaningful in return.

Living with less has given me more — more clarity, more time, and more peace of mind. I still enjoy nice things and experiences, but now I choose them carefully. Minimalism helped me slow down in a world that never stops moving.
